If you hold the entry level grades in the right combination of subjects, you always have the chance of an interview. But after that, it depends on the rest of your application and the competition from other applicants in the year you apply.

Thanks, Because I read and remembered some posts in Student room that some student may be rejected or have no interview chance with the same grade as mine. I knew all depending upon your submission Portfolio and PS. I worried about the PG with only over threshold.

I’m going into year 12 this September and I have picked my subjects. Maths Physics and Chemistry. But I want to do Architecture and hopefully aiming to get into Cambridge. I did art gcse and got a 9. But I’m worried that if I didn’t get in due to not taking art. Do you have any advice or suggestions. Because I’m so confused and I want to get my subjects sorted out before school starts. Also what subjects did you do?

If you are only going into Year 12 now, it is too early to be worrying about and predicting grades. You need to get into Y12 and see how the subjects settle with you at A level standard.

It doesn't matter what grades other people got, you don't know the detail of the whole of their application, references, super-curricular, school background, PS etc. Just focus on what you can control.

What you need to ensure though, is that you are doing the right combination of subjects. So if you aren't doing Art at A level, see what the various architecture school say about developing your portfolio, and make sure you are developing a portfolio alongside A levels. Look at the Bartlett (UCL) alongside Cambridge for guidance.

But I just want to know what A levels they are doing. That way it can steer me onto the right path.
