Too late for Ustinov Accommodation?

Hi,

I've got a conditional offer for a postgraduate course at Durham (hoping to get the letter I need to meet the condition in the next few days).
Due to a number of reasons I was only able to get my application in and get my offer in August, which is quite late.

Is it at all likely that there will still be accommodation available in a college (e.g. Ustinov or St Chad's) at this stage? I'm quite worried about finding accommodation, and I'm wondering if it's best to try and find something privately or to risk waiting and seeing if I will get anything from a college.

Hi! I'm also a Postgrad starting this year, and I only got my private accomodation (renting a house) this week so I do think you have a lot of time as there are always people looking. Personally, I would not hold out waiting for college accomodation as I do believe their waitlist is quite long and so late in the game all the rooms will be taken up (and even if you do get offered a room, it is likely to be incredibly expensive and/or be offered late September). If I were you, I'd go on the Durham Housing facebook pages and ask around. Good Luck!
