y12 predicted

My predicted grades came out not as good as i hoped for (ABB), as i know a lot of entry requirements are As and i wanted to apply to possibly Cambridge and other schools, where the minimum would be ABB really, and if i didnt get into my uni of choice id hope to resit my a levels. I understand that with a lot of hard work i could possibly get my grades up a grade or 2, but would unis consider me less likely than a student with 3A* predicted? I think i will be considered for a contextual offer, and i know it will reduced the grade requirements, but i just wondered how much predicted grades will affect?

If you really think you can get A* grades, I'd suggest that you don't bother applying to any Unis this year but instead work your socks off to get those top grades - and then apply with achieved grades in autumn 2026 for 2027 entry.
