i'm going into y12 and can't decide which a levels i want to do. which combination should i pick? i'm thinking about doing a degree in either psychology(with linguistics) or PPE. also slightly daft question but do i need english/an mfl for linguistics or am i fine with just psychology and maths??
1) maths, psychology, politics, economics (preferred option)
2) maths, psychology, politics, english lang+lit
3) maths, psychology, economics, english lang+lit
i'll drop a subject after i've decided which degree i want to do, or when i've finished year 12

For linguistics, English is a MUST.
If I was u, I'd go with English, psychology and maths...
A-Levels are completely different than GCSE in terms of content heavy and difficulty so only pick 3 and you'll thank urself, as a half dead year 13, trust me. 🙏
Doing 4 is a waste of time especially if ur planning to drop one - just do an EPQ instead
Hope that helps 🙂

Hey @qpwoei12,

I'd recommend looking at the relevant course pages for any universities you might consider to check whether or not they have specific subject requirements. If your course doesn't have any specific subject requirements that you need to meet, choose your preferred subject combination (with the plan to drop one of the four after Year 12/once you've decided your degree). 🙂

Hope this helps and best of luck!
Eve (Kingston Rep).

does it matter which version of a level english i do? my school doesn't offer english language so my options are either english language & literature combined or english literature. i've heard that lit is more "competitive" than langlit but i feel like the language part is more relevant to the course?
Then I think it would make sense to do the combined course - cuz ur right lang is more relevant
