Resitting

I missed my uni grade as I got ABB instead of AAB, I've been crying, not because of unis but because I was expecting to get A*AB as English was my best and I had already got 50/50 on coursework I'm going to resit maths and English at my old school, is there anyway I can get support from teachers without having to formally sit in class as I feel ashamed or get private tutors as that’s costly

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear this :frown:

I'm afraid that your teachers might be bound for professional reasons to not be able to provide you help outside of the school context, so you might have to go sit in class (if they allow it - no all schools do). I understand that you might feel a bit ashamed (although really those A-levels are nothing to be ashamed of), but at the end of the day, it will probably be better for you to get as much support as you can.

If you don't want a private tutor, then the other alternative is try to self-teach yourself everything again, which might not be ideal but since you got decent grades anyway, with a little bit of self-discipline and self-honesty on how you're progressing, you could manage.

Although of course the question to ask yourself is... do you really need to resit your A-levels? As someone who also underperformed in their A-levels, I truly get that it hurts a lot and that you want to fix that, but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth the hassle. Because those A-levels are not bad at all and they will be a ticket for many degrees at many universities, which you can then go to and then excel in your degree.

Hope this is helpful.
