Personal Statement & Essays for Oxford Master's in Education
I'm an international student majoring in Sociology & Education at an institution in the USA and I would love to apply to Oxford for my Master's. Any tips on how to direct my personal statement?
I'm used to creative writing in the US but I know the UK schools don't care about that and care more about focusing on my education + course I'm applying to.
Also, any tips on the required 2 essays?:
- Academic essays or other writing samples, written in English, are
required. Extracts of the requisite length from longer work are also
permissible.
- You may submit written work previously completed for a prior course
of study if the topic is relevant ie an assignment or chapter of a
dissertation etc, provided it meets the requirements.
- If you do not have any existing material that fits this requirement, we
would suggest that you may like to critique an empirical article or
write a book review based on the course subject.
- The written work should be related to the course, and should be on
two separate topics. The word count should include any bibliography
or brief footnotes.
