re sitting year 12?

I got my AS results (my school does them). I got an A in history, a B in economics and then an E in maths. This maths grade has caught me off guard because all year i was getting Bs and As, and I had never gotten as low as this. Do you think it's worth resitting year 12 at a different school and doing a different subject to maths? My sixth form has said that the most they will predict me would only be one grade above my AS grade, but I've spoken to ex year 13s and they have all said that best case scenario, it would be 2 grades up, but that's still not good enough for me because my predictions will be A*A* and then a C. I also think it's worth mentioning that I was one mark of a D, but my school is not willing to pay for the remark.

Any response would be greatly appreciated because im in total despair. thanks.

Hi there,

One thing that sticks out to me is you went from A/B to an E. Is there some sort of mistake by your school or the exam board? How did you feel about your academic performance in this particular exam?

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

sadly it wasn’t a mistake. I was genuinely horrified when I had opened it up because it was very unexpected but I’ve spoken to my maths teacher about special consideration (I’ve a got a diagnosis that specifically affected me the day of the maths exam) but at the moment my prediction in Maths is a C. I’ve chosen to stay at the sixth form (the school year has already started) and I’ve decided to have a stronger focus on maths (even though I don’t find it particularly challenging).

I had a conversation with my maths teacher and she told me the shock she had for my AS grade and assured me that there’s no way I’d get as low as I did at A Level but it still sucks that my predicted at the moment is a C.
