Need Advice Applying to UCAS for Non-traditional Students

I’m applying for Adult Nursing as a non-traditional, mature, international, independent student. Do you have any advice for someone like me going through the application process for the first time?

Also looking at Russell-Group Universities in the bigger cities.

Any good advice would be welcome. The process to apply to Uni is very different from my current country.

Cheers!

Are you aware that Nursing is an accredited degree with set syllabus, and therefore it doesn't matter which Uni you go to. There is no 'better' Uni, so forget any Uni snobbery. The NHS won't care where you trained - and neither will your future patients.

When was the last time you asked any healthcare professional 'did you go to an RG Uni'?

Ask for help here for anything that you need clarification, and go to open days of universities to decide and enquire about your own personal circumstances.

In the UK you'll be applying to universities via UCAS, which will make you fill out a very long and boring form, most of the questions will be self-explanatory and easy to fill out. From the top of my mind, you might have to do a little bit of research into what universities you can apply to with your qualifications, and you'll need to sort out an academic reference of some sort. If you don't have someone who can give you a reference, then you might have to do a bit of studying before university in order to get that reference.

Ditto what McGinger above said. Apply to universities you like, don't consider whether if they are Russell Group or not. it won't matter. Matter of fact, I'd say my university was better regarded before it joined Russell Group

Thank you Scotland Yard! Really great points and yeah I did some virtual open days. Just getting as much info as I can, I'm probably overthinking it though.
