Transfering Santander Mini to a student account

Not exactly SFE but I can't find a banking thread. My son is trying to use the transfer button on Santander to move from 123 mini to student account so he can update SFE with student account details but the button just sends him round in a circle and he never gets to anywhere asking for his UCAS code(we spent an hour on the website). We finally rang them and they said you can do it on the web site but then they booked us an appointment at a branch but its 20miles away so just wondered if anyone had found a way round the same issue so we can save a 2 hour round trip tomorow.
