Are my grades good enough for top universities?

So I just got my GCSE results back a week ago and I achieved 9888877766+L2M, what i’m mainly concerned about are my 6s which are in english literature and geography. I have a 7 in english language, 9 in fm and an 8 in maths. Should I still consider applying to the universities despite my 6s? I’m planning to study a maths/data/finance related degree in top universities such as: imperial, ucl and lse but I fear my GCSEs may be a setback. I went to a grammar school but my GCSEs were above the average in my school this year. My plans to make a strong application include: Strong TMUA, Strong STEP, Python programming experience, maths mentor, plenty finance/maths work experience, aim for at least a*a*a in the subjects : maths, further maths and economics. Please let me know if I have a chance and anything I can do further to make an extra competitive application!!

GCSEs form a tiny part of any Uni's assessment of your application. Check that you meet any specific GCSE requirements for that course - typically only English and/or Maths - but aside from that, don't worry. Unis are far more interested in your A level grades.
