If you dont mind me asking - what sort of situation were you in eg. Firm, insurance clearing ?

Hello Everyone!

Having talked to the Admissions team, I can confirm that 90% of students have been allocated a college and for the remaining 10%, you can expect your allocation to come through by the end of today.

As for your login details, they will come out at the latest by the end of next Friday (12th September)

We know how stressful this experience is (having gone through it myself) but I can confidently say that you will not be disadvantaged at all in selecting modules or your experience here at Durham.

Thanks for being patient with us

Same - also if 90% of students had been allocated colleges on Monday, and 90% of students have been allocated by today, have they either allocated no students to any colleges this whole week or have they got the numbers wrong?

They must have got the numbers wrong as some people in one of my group chats heard back this morning…

Yes I think the Admissions team are spinning a line here!

I wish they would just get themselves together and send out some emails - but it’s obviously going to be next week before the rest of us hear anything. It’s absolutely unacceptable

I cant believe this is even happening. Why has it taken THIS long man.... I just hope i dont get re-allocated honestly like im praying here...

Honestly when there is absolutely zero communication from them that’s what it feels like! I’m going to email and question them but doubt I’ll even get a reply atp

Waited all night for the email, alas nothing, gonna have to give them a call on Monday morning. Losing confidence with the uni, especially if I end up being reallocated now, hope to hear on Monday

Unfortunately, due to the popularity of some colleges, significant reallocation after results day is a historical norm. Combined with the fact that Durham has a poor reputation for administration and a rumoured higher intake this year, to offset a reduction in foreign students, chaos was perhaps inevitable.

Feel v sorry for those still to receive their college allocation, however wherever you end up I'm sure you will enjoy a brilliant time at a top rated university.

I’ve come to terms with being reallocated tbh - I just need confirmation of which college, and then presumably one week after that I’ll find out exactly where I’m going to be living, how much it will cost, when I have to get there and what I need to bring!

Oh and whether there is any work I need to do before I arrive, and which modules still have a space for me. We’re really running out of time for all this

I can assure that in terms of academics and college experience, you are in no way disadvantaged by getting your college confirmation later than others. I do completely understand why this super frustrating but please feel confident that you will be able to do the courses you want (given enough students sign up to them, amongst other things)

Hi, I’ve already tried ringing these two numbers through out this past week and nobody picks the phone up. Is there another line you can ring?

I think there is still a chance of us not getting re-allocated. But this is just so frustrating honestly...
