Do I have a chance with Cambridge Architecture?

Hi! I’ve just finished my alevels and got A*AA in drama English lit and art and design and I currently hold a place to study architecture at Cardiff uni. I did better than expected in my alevels and have always thought of considering oxbridge but never thought I would be able to academically perform to their standard. I’m weighing up the pros and cons of taking a gap year in order to try to apply for the Cambridge architecture course but just wondering if anyone has any experience with admissions that might help. I know I don’t have the ideal subjects for an application but I really think the more theoretical course there would suit me however if I didn’t get in I feel like the year out would be a waste as I’d just reapply to Cardiff again.

"Some Colleges ask for specific subjects to apply to Architecture, whereas others don't. We recommend certain subjects for a strong application:
Mathematics
Art and Design
Physics"

The acceptance rate is 12.5%. It is a risk as you will be up against candidates who do have the recommended subjects. Only you can decide if it is worth that risk.
