Hi @kahyu 🙂 Sorry I've missed your thread until now!

How did you get on in your highers overall last year?

When you're looking at the entry requirements you will see two sets of requirements - one is the 'standard' and the other is the 'minimum'. Applicants who are working towards the standard requirements are asked for AAAB at Higher (Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B, English B) AND BB at Advanced Higher (Chemistry B and/or Biology; Physics and Maths can be considered as an alternative to one).

If you are eligible for a contextual offer the entry requirements are adjusted, and would be as per the 'minimum' on the webpages. Normally this is Higher AABC (Chemistry, Biology, Maths and English); plus Advanced Higher in Chemistry and Biology BC in any order; Physics or Maths considered as an alternative to one.

Depending on whether or not you're eligible for a contextual offer would determine what we'd ask for at advanced higher. You can see some more info on this here: https://www.strath.ac.uk/professionalservices/accessequalityinclusionservice/wideningaccess/gettingin/contextualadmissions/

Hope this helps!

Well done on your grades from last year! They're brill 🙂
We'd adjust the criteria for contextual factors but not on the basis of what you've done in S5. If the admissions team were making an offer it would either be for BB or BC at advanced higher - dependent on whether you're working towards the standard or minimum criteria.
Hope that helps! Good luck with your application!
