Heyyy

So I've been back for a week now - I meant to update earlier but I was busy at the weekend
Year 13 is hectic already and there's so much homework but I'm trying to make sure I have time for revision each day as well

Homework :groovy:

Biology 1 - 2 questions

Applied maths - challenge 8 mark question

Extra work :groovy:

energetics notes

mass transport notes

globalisation notes

applied stats

Other :groovy:

My timetable isn't great this year with loads of doubles. All the people that dropped a subject last year have a lovely timetable but I still have a very full timetable

One good thing is that both my maths teachers are so much better this year. I genuinely come out of every lesson knowing I've learnt something and know I actually think maths is really interesting so I'm glad I didnt drop it

Me and my friend made an agreement with each other to keep up both motivated with revision and its been working since 1st September

The new year 12s are so annoying and theres way more of them than there are year 13s so they take up all the space and we are left standing which is annoying

I've done a first draft of my personal statement and am just adjusting it here and there and then hopefully this weekend I will get my cousins to have a look at it then maybe in October I'll book a meeting with my reference writer

I'm glad to hear that you are understanding maths and the method of study buddies is helping you to stay accountable and on top of your work!
Gosh that's so real with the greater influx of year12 due to a population boom - that my college changed the timetable to accommodate them - which the timings are so inconvient for the buses now😭

:goodluck: with everything.
My timetable is OK this year (everyday except Thursday I have 2 out of 3 of my periods being lessons and on Thursday I have 1 lesson)
That's great to hear about maths.
There are definitely more Year 12s than Year 13s. My tutor group is dominated by Year 12s. Even more confusing is one of the Year 12s in my tutor group moved to my tutor group and they have the same name so every time I hear their name I start answering the register as no one has ever shared the same name as me in a class until now.
:goodluck: with your personal statement.

Thank youuu
Tbh I'd even be happy with 2/3 lessons - some days I have 6 lessons which is painful. I have no idea hwo we did it back in secondary with 5 lessons everyday :hmmmm:
Oooh thats cool to have someone witht the same name as you I guess you'll figure out a way to distinguish between u soon

The lessons are 100 minutes long. I don't even know what they look like or what any of the Year 12s in tutor look like. All I know is that they're on the register.

We have six 50min lessons instead so if i had a four period day I'd be happy with that

Heyyy

Homework:groovy:

organic task 7

pure exam question

applied set of questions

independent investigation 2 sections

Extra work :groovy:

diverse places revision

stats revision

Other:groovy:

we have an acitivty day on friday which is exciting

last year I did volutneering but this year I'm doing gardening with my friend as my enrichment activity

I hate the independent investigation so much 😭 - I'm glad I only have one coursework subject unlike some who have like 3 but I'm just so clueless on it

maths is no longer fun - I think the novelty of actually learning stuff has worn off lol now its boring and difficult again but oh well

I'm going into year 13 in September and if year 12 was anything to go by there won't be a dull moment:groovy:. I'll try to remember to post more regularly as I really slacked off last year :argh:
Good luck to everyone for the academic year 2025/2026 xx

Ooo, what activity are you planning to do?

That's fair with the independent investigation 😂 I had a girl in my CS class who did both Geography and CS and the courseworks overlapped timing wise and she did not like it 💀

Sorry to hear about maths, is there a way to make it more fun for yourself? Idk whether your study buddy does maths too but you could quiz each other and winner gets something

Enjoy your gardening enrichment - I do envy you quite a bit :colondollar:

For some odd reason your tag for me isn't working, which I find rather unusual 😕
So real about maths - I just admit I have a toxic relationship with that subject in particular and keep asking myself if I should have done sociology for something similar😭

It is quite fun but tbh I didnt even know my school had a garden before this because it was jsut an overgrown area at the back of our field but now its beginning to look a bit more manageable lol
We just finished functions and started trig functions today (sec, cosec, cot) and we're doing forces and friction in applied which I am actually understanding tbh

For activity day I've chosen an obstacle course thingy - its so far out of my comfort zone lol but hopefully it will be fun
Omg yesss one of my friends in my class does 3 coursework subjects and I do not envy him at all
Icl since my last post I've started liking maths again 😭soz guys ur gonna get a lot of me going back and forth on this tbh. Its a major love/hate relationship and I just cant decide lol
But yes he does also do maths so maybe that could work

Ah thank you
Oh - I'll try it again next time hopefully it should work
Genuinely tho maths and chemistry are such toxic relationships - I keep thinking i should've swapped to econ at the start of year 12 but theres no point thinking about that now lol

Do you prefer stats, applied or pure so far?
