Undergraduate Chemical Engineering (University of Manchester, UK)- device choice

Hi, any recommendations for what device I should buy before starting my course? So far I've been looking at 2 in 1 convertible laptops so I have the processing power of a normal laptop (idk if certain simulation programmes or whatnot are required to run) and the capability to become a tablet for note taking purposes with a stylus. Hopefully I can get some pointers so I know if I'm going in the right direction or if I've made some assumptions about what's required and I'm overdoing it. Feel free to add what devices you used to study ChemEng. Just looking for some guidance
