How much do you spend on a weekly/monthly food budget?

How much does everyone spend on a weekly or monthly food budget?

I’m 26 and single and set aside £45 per month and spend £9 per week on food (breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner). What about you?

Blimey! That is tight. I was frugal back in 1995 with a weekly budget of £10 but for that I ate like a king. Life surely is worth more than £45 a month!

I guess in 1995 you could get away with spending £10 and leave with a bag full of groceries. Now, you’re spending £10 on one item. It’s crazy!..

I’m also having money troubles, so for now the £45 a month and £9 a week will do. I know it’s just a temporary measure.
OP your budget is crazy. How are you even eating at all?

Ours is around £270 a week for 6 people, so roughly £45 a week each. That includes toiletries, cleaning products, and now and again household things we might need on occasion that Tesco sells like bedsheets for example.

My eldest averaged £45/week last year on food and basic needs, mostly with Aldi prices.

Going out etc was not part of that, but laundry was

Your budget is understandable if you have a big family! What are your go to shops for food?

And also, I meal prep a lot and have mainly leftovers in the cupboard or fridge that needs using before I buy anything new. Also, shopping at Aldi and Lidl is always the go to and buying the cheaper alternatives.
I set aside £140 a month.
I dont spend all of that though. I usually spend around £80.
