How to change board decision from a suspension to reattend?

I’m a 2nd year undergrad student and I received my results for my resits in July/August. The university have placed me in academic suspension, but I would much rather reattend the whole year again. I contacted my year adviser about this and they said a suspension is the normal procedure since I failed 40 credits and not more than 60, but I could submit an appeal to change the board decision to a reattend. Unfortunately, I don’t think I have the adequate personal circumstances to submit an appeal that will make them change the decision. Is there anything else I could do to possibly change the board decision from a suspension to a reattend?

Hey Anon 🙂 Sorry that I've missed this thread until now!

Have you been back in touch with your advisor of studies? I'm not able to advise anything in detail via TSR as I'm not involved in this process within the university and don't want to advise you incorrectly. My best advice is to get back in touch with your advisor of studies to ask what your next steps would be if you're unhappy with the outcome following the exam board. You could also contact the Students Union if you feel you would benefit from some guidance from them. There's a webpage here which may help: https://www.strathunion.com/support/academic/.

Let me know if there's anything else I can potentially help with!
