Postgrad Accommodation Help
Hello,
I have been allocated to St. John's College as a postgraduate student matriculating to Durham this Fall. However, it has been stated in my College membership application form: "Please note that our Postgraduate Accommodation is now fully booked for 2025-2026. If accommodation becomes available, those that select yes below will be contacted in the order they submitted".
Perhaps that is the reason why I have yet to even receive an accommodation application. Does anyone know what the possibilities are for even getting an accommodation at St. John's or is it quite clear that I need to start searching for private accommodation elsewhere?
Lastly, given that most students beyond 1st year seek out private accommodation or student housing, can anyone comment on the social life without having college accommodation? Any anecdotal advice or stories would be greatly helpful.
