Tuition fee loan - previous study

I started studying at Southampton uni back in 2020 but had to leave withdraw two months into my second year due to bad mental health and anxiety.

I started studying with the open University in 2022 but have now had to change the course I was studying this year. The length of the new course is going to be 4 years, but I will technically already be in my second year as some of my previous study will carry over.

Will I still be able to get a tuition fee loan for this new course?

Hi there, when you studied with the Open University, did you receive any qualifications from this period of study? Thanks, Stephen

No, I did not receive any qualifications from the Open University period of study

Hi Snippyahsoka,

Thank you for confirming. Are you now going to study a new full time course? If so, we will only take your previous full time study years into account as you didn't obtain a qualification from your part time study.

My new course is still with the Open university so it will still be part time.

Thank you. If you don't hold a qualification and are still studying part time then you'd be eligible for fees without any evidence being required. Thanks, Jason
