Where does a physics degree or masters take you

I am about to go into a physics degree at a uni in the top 10 world ranking and don’t know what career i intend to have after but I have heard many go into finance or tech if they don’t have a career in physics. A lot of relatives have been telling me I shouldn’t have chosen physics as my degree choice and instead chosen a degree with more job security i.e. medicine or accounting. For anyone who has done or is doing a physics degree or masters where has it taken you and will this degree be sought after in certain industries from beyond 2025?
