Durham university - Accounting and Finance

I want to apply to Accounting and finance at the University of Durham. But I'm not sure what i can do during the next couple months to add stuff for my personal statement. Any tips.
(I'm particularly looking for students who were accepted to Durham or other Top UK universities) but I'm open to any insights or guidance from others as well.

I was also wondering if Accounting and Finance at Durham was avaliable in clearing this year and if anyone knows what was their clearing requirement.
I was also wondering if Durham is bias against resit students. (retaking 2 subjects).

Hi there @Anonymous2531 ,

I think what really stands out to universities in any personal statement is a clear display of passion and interest for the subject. This can be shown through going above and beyond your school curriculum to engage with and learn more about the course.

To help boost your skills over the next few months, i would try and get some experience, even if this is through free online services, like Forage, for example.

With a course like Accounting and Finance, that is not a subject you can take at school, I would also highlight what particularly interests you about the course and draws you to want to pursue it.

I would also talk about what relevant skills you have for the course and where you got/developed these skills, e.g. one of your A-Level subjects, a part-time job, volunteering, an online website, a club, etc. This also helps show you as a well-rounded individual who will be a great addition to the university community.

I hope that this is all useful and that you get into Durham or any other universities that you apply to! 🙏
