University of York - Wall art / Posters

Hi, moving in to my accommodation at York in 2 weeks, and was surprised to see that there appears to be a ban on all wall art or posters, with the exception of a notice board in each room. I was wondering what the dimensions of this notice board are, so I know the limit on what to bring with me. Thanks in advance!

What accom you heading to? The board size'll differ from each.

If you wanna risk it, many students ignore that rule and use command strips to hang posters up anyways (I bought a pack of 60 on amazon for like £6 🤐)— just don't be too crazy with it and follow the instructions correctly

Wall art, tho? Bit of a stretch imo

Congrats on York btw!! I wanted to go there but they didn't have a good course for me. Jealous you can go to the little ghost shop 🤨🤨
I mean you can probably get away with doing it but you'll get charged out of your deposit when you leave for the marks (or damage) to the wall.

Langwith college - shared bathroom. Thanks, I was unsure about how strict it was but I can probably get away with what I've got, as it doesn't really damage walls.

Yeah I didn't mean really know how to word it other than posters so I just threw the term wall art in there, don't worry I'm not going to graffiti my walls lmao.

Thanks. where did you end up going to uni?

I'm going to uni of Glasgow ✨️

If you go onto their accommodation page and go on the 3D model for shared bathrooms, you can actively measure things

It may change between rooms, but it came up as 6 feet across and 1 foot tall (around 186 x 30.5cm)

You usually get a small notice board above your desk. I still stuck stuff up but around my wardrobe so that it could come done easier. You could stick it to windows as well and try bedroom door

I was in Anne Lister last year and it looks like you’ve got more room than I did lol
