Is my gcse grades weighing down my medical school opportunity?

I got 8-English lang 8-English lit 7-maths 7-chem 7-physics 6-bio 7-RS 6-Geography 5-CS 5-DT 5-Arabic
I don't see any reason it's a barrier. I'd probably suggest avoiding GCSE heavy medical schools (e.g. Cardiff, Oxford) and focusing on those with minimum GCSE requirements that don't score GCSEs (e.g. Imperial, UCL).

Check their medicine admissions pages to see how they shortlist applicants and see if they score GCSEs, and if so how they are weighted in the application process. Part of applying to medicine is researching the shortlisting methodologies of the medical schools you will apply to, in order to identify the ones you have the strongest application for (because they are all different - they don't all look for the same things!)
