So it seems like firms will start reaching out to us from 4th of November.

How long did you guys pick for the internship? I picked 12 months, I hope it does not negatively affect me. Happy to do 3 months and very flexible.

I picked 3 months and I don't think it'll negatively impact you, it's just to get a feel of what you want

Yep, hopefully we'll get contact soon! I put down 2-3 months since I'm just looking for something over summer before my final year

Does anyone know if we apply seperately to each internship as well as going through 10kBI? got an email from HDRUK saying applications open and it seems we apply through the same stages.

10k is different from everything else. Just as how you were matched to Deutsch, you can also apply to them directly.

I applied for private practice law for all three of my options since it’s the only field I’m interested in. Does anyone know how this might affect my chances? Will it just mean I could get three different law firms instead of one, or will I still only get one firm like usual?

do you mean you submitted 3 separate personal statements for private practice law or did you just do one? i think it just means you will only be matched with companies from that one field then.

Has anyone received any communication from their matched firms?

Yes I submitted 3 separate personal statements for private practice law. And that makes sense! I thought I would only be considered for 1 firm as opposed to multiple

No, you can be considered for multiple, cause the minimum match is 3. But sometimes people may not get matched to 1 stream, so 2 in 1 stream, 1 in another, 0 in the last 1.

so you might be matched from 0 - the max which may be 4? if not 6.

But you will get at least 1 match.

and no I haven't received any communication from my matched law firms yet. it kind of makes sense because law firms are currently very busy, so they'll most likely get back late November/early December (not sure about other industries)

Congratulations! Did you get an email from 10k or from the firm itself?

I got the email from 10k, which is usually how it works at first. Normally the firm reaches out through 10k to let you know, and then contacts you directly for the interviews.

I have been matched to 2 firms.

Neither 10k nor the firm has reached out. I knew by checking my data (something you can do if you applied years ago).

@chmpgnee can you please tell us what the email said exactly? Cause I'm wondering why they have not contacted me yet. Also I hope to get more than 2 matches.

The email was from the firm and they just confirmed that I’ve been matched with them and that they’ll get back to me soon. If you haven’t already, you should check your spam and email 10k to let them know what’s going on, they’re usually very quick at replying and resolving issues!

I also think you should email the firm(s) in question to ask them to confirm whether you’ve been matched and to let them know about the issue. That way, they can put you on the system if they haven’t already done so. I’d advise you not to wait for them to get back to you, reach out to both 10k and the firm(s) yourself.
