St Andrews comp sci 2nd year entry

on the website for st andrews it states that applicants with excellent qualifications and prior programming experience would be able to be admitted into the second year of their comp sci course. what do i need to do to actually meet those criteria.

ill have 4 years of experience with python by the time of entry. (and A levels in maths, fm, physics and comp sci). Im asking because it would be the longest course im applying for and id much prefer if id only have to do 4 years rather than 5, considering the first year would likely just be things i will have already covered in A levels // in my own projects // my own reading.

ive contacted them asking this but no one has replied to me so im not quite sure where to find this information. would be great if someone could help out!!!!

I assume you are not from Scotland if you hold A-levels. The full 5 year master's course is for the Scottish students who live where no place offers Advanced Highers qualifications (equivalent to A2-level). You should go for direct entry, as you also have a lot of practical experience too.
