Final-year module choices for PPE (Econ with Pol) aiming at public sector/consulting

Hi everyone,

I’m currently going into my final year of a BSc (Hons) PPE at Warwick, majoring in Economics with a minor in Politics, and I’m trying to decide which modules to take. My main career interests at the moment are in the public sector (civil service, policy work, etc.) or consulting, and I’d like to get some advice on what kind of module choices would be most valuable from an employer’s perspective.

Here are the modules I’ve already taken in first and second year:

Economics 2 (Core), Industrial Economics, Economics of Money and Banking, Applied Econometrics (Core), Political Theory from Hobbes (Core), Economics 1, Statistical Techniques B, Mathematical Techniques B, Foundations of Entrepreneurship, Topics in Applied Economics, Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Politics.

I’d be grateful if anyone with experience in consulting, public policy, or graduate recruitment could suggest:

Which types of final-year modules tend to be most relevant/valued (for example, more technical economics, applied policy, quantitative modules, or politics-related ones)

Whether employers in these sectors look for particular skills or content knowledge from graduates of degrees like mine

Thanks in advance for your help!
