Not really - I mean Jesters is always a bit messy, but it's fine really. Oceana is quite chavvy; everywhere else is fine :smile:

my boyfriend and I walked home once from the cube to monte halls and a chav jumped out of car and punched us... ended up in A&E, and the wardens said its not the first time it's happened.

dont want to scare you its just a warning not to walk home from cube, get the saftey bus! its only a £1!!x

I'm a bit late with this reply but I don't think Soton is dodgy at all! Compared to where i'm from (Sheffield), it's lovely! I live at Monte and often go for jogs at around midnight near the surrounding area and never have any trouble... Not that I would condone that, it's just because it clears my head, but still... It's not that bad!

Maybe i'm just too common :'(

Frankly, very few places are as rough as Sheffield. Although Sheffield has become a much nicer place since September, I've heard.

hey, im going there in september to study Geography, and I was just wondering what are Highfield halls like? I am hoping to get a place there..and how late does th bus run in the evening to/from uni and into Southampton town?
I don't know much about Highfield Hall, aside from it's within spitting distance of Avenue Campus, and very near Highfield too - and that you have to move out at Easter! As for buses, it depends which ones you're referring to, but generally they run until about 11pm at night, although as a resident of Highfield Hall, I don't see why you'll be needing a bus to uni, you lucky bugger :p:

Yeah but they're very small and I don't think it's that much of a good socialising hall... But then like Jonny, I don't know really!
