What are some good colleges to go to in Year 12 for Animation?

Hi, I'm currently in Year 11, (Class of 2026) and am wondering if there are any good colleges that I can go to that have a 2D Animation course and a Game Development course. Thanks in advance!

Not sure where you are based, but my uni (University of Sunderland) does Animation and Games Art as a single degree that covers a wide range of skills, techniques, and styles, and has an optional placement year too

It will really depend on where you are in the UK, as for college/sixth form you're usually a bit more geographically limited than at university level (although correct me if i'm wrong, I know some people do leave home for college, it's just rare). I would honestly just suggest you visit lots of your local colleges/Level 3 providers and ask them lots of questions - ask to see their digital facilities and art rooms, inquire about what courses they offer and ask teachers about student outcomes (do you offer BTEC courses or just A-levels? What does [course you're interested in] involve and what skills would I learn? What have your previous students gone on to do?)

That will generally give you a really good idea of whether you feel like the quality of the teaching will be good and they're prepared to support you in the direction you want to go after Year 13 - hopefully will help you narrow it down!

This is probably the sort of course you are looking for
Animation (Level 3) BBL100 | The Bedford College Group
and all you need to do is use google to find similar courses to you locally.
