I’ve paid my first rent installment for my accom but it was the wrong accommodation
I paid a deposit for one accom months ago and forgot about it but I’ve booked a different one now. I completely forgot about this and I’ve paid my first rent installment for it and then realised it was the wrong accommodation asking for it. I’ve missed the cancellation period for the deposit and now I’m scared I’ll have to pay full rent for BOTH accoms. Any advice because I’m genuinely terrified I do NOT have the money for that

Sorry to hear about the trouble you have had with your accommodation. The first thing you should do is contact your university if you booked through them. They will be able to advise and provide support.
If you booked privately you will be able to get independent advice from your student union. They will be able to help you understand your rights and any tenancy arrangements you may have signed.
The faster you reach out for assistance the better.
Best of luck of hopefully you can get this resolved as soon as possible and enjoy freshers!
