Advice for Economics without Further Maths at A-level

Hi,

I'm about to start Year 12, and I've taken Mathematics, Economics, English Literature, and an EPQ for A-levels, with the hope of studying something related to Economics at university.

I understand now that securing a place at a highly regarded university for pure economics without further mathematics is quite challenging, so would I still have a chance of getting into a double honours course like Economics and Politics?

I would really love some sort of advice about my situation, or anything that I could do.

Most of the top Unis do want further maths for pure Economics but your A levels are good for Econ with Politics, not many Unis take an EPQ into account though. How were your GCSEs? Do you know your predicted grades yet? I applied with A*A*A* (Maths/Economics and History) A* in EPQ (Achieved) 99988887776 in GCSE and applied to LSE (Econ with Pol) UCL (PPE) Warwick (PPE) and Bath (Econ with Pol) and KCL (PPE) I was offered Warwick, Bath and KCL all good unis for anything Economics related

Hi, my GCSE's were similar, I do not have my predicted grades for A-levels yet, as I have not started Year 12 (will be starting in 2 days). Thank you for listing your offers and course choices! That really paints a nicer picture for me.
