I am really worried about parking brake and driving test

My test is coming up, it will be taken in instructors manual car which is a Volkswagen golf - 2021 I think. The parking brake is automatic and the instructor says I can't use it, if I put it on it will cause problems and the car won't work properly, it automatically turns on when you're parked which I have seen, I think it turn on when you go into neutral gear. Is this true? I've googled it and it says it can be used but instructor is adamant it can't be, says I can only use it at the end of the test when I park but it will automatically turn on so I won't have to use it. Google did say there are some hybrid manual cars where you can't use the automatic parking brake, I've asked a few times but get the same answer when I ask how to use it. I'm really worried I will fail my test if I don't use it like the examiner will mark me down each time it's not used when it should be. I have ha lessons in with manual cars with the exact same automatic parking brake which I had to use which I told the instructor but they said not for this car. I don't understand why I can't use it in this car and surely there is a way of changing the setting or whatever to make it usable. I've searched YouTube and tiktok but there don't seem to be any videos explaining this cars parking brake. I'm worried I will either get marked down for not using it each time and it will add up to a fail or I will worry too much and end up rolling back and failing if there's a car behind so if anyone knows anything about this parking brake please say. Also if it is true then what can I do instead of using it? Like if I'm waiting at traffic lights or somewhere for ages, do I just go into neutral gear or can I just do what I've been doing clutch down and foot brake on? But if I go to neutral then it will take time to move off and I'll just be holding up traffic behind?
You aren't marked on using a specific brake, you're marked on keeping the car under control.
