different curriculums of dental schools

Hii im a year 13 who is deciding on ucas dentistry choices. may I ask anyone who are current students or experts on the curriculums especially kcl, qmul, glasgow, cardiff, dundee, leeds. Or any other dental school curriculums you know about so I could make an informed choice. Perhaps their advantages and disadvantages. I also heard that kcl is having a new curriculum, would like to know more about that as well!

One more thing, I am pretty chill with locations and accomodations so curriculums will be more of a priority I look at.
Thank you!!!

Hiya!

Good luck starting year 13!
I am not an expert on curriculums, but I have been at Cardiff Uni for 4 years now, and know quite a bit about the uni. I absolutely love it and couldn't recommend it more. As a Russell Group university, we are very research oriented, and therefore have staff who are experts in their field and have an impact on the real world, and mean delivering up-to-date curriculums! Here's some pro's on my side of cardiff uni and living in cardiff:

As you may know, we rank Top 4 in the UK for Dentistry and 34th in the world!

State of the art simulation suite to prepare you for clinical placements

Clinical practice modules right from year 1 in Dentistry

Dentistry courses accredited by the General Dental Council (GDC)

We have the 2nd best Students' union in the UK! And it lives up to that, there's so many societies, events, and services available. From sports, hobbies, to professional development events and societies, there really is everything.

It has set me up well for my career after, with many specialised accreditations, corporate links, and Russell group status. The uni as a whole run things like, networking events and stands, interview practice, LinkedIn headshots, and more!

The staff are so lovely, and there's lots of support for you, from mental support to career support to subject and skills based support.

It is so walkable! For me, nothing is more than a 20 minute walk, we have the huge Bute park, a lovely city centre with a range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Most students all live in Cathays, which is right next to the main uni buildings (including the buildings you would be in). The bay and other further natural spaces are really nice and refreshing when living in a city.

There's a great sense of community, helped by everyone living so close, and helped by the SU.

It is pretty affordable, with many student accommodation options (sharing and private). And opportunities to work around studies, regularly or ad-hoc, especially through our student service - Jobshop.

There is likely to be some adjustments to the modules as they respond to previous students' feedback and as they continue to keep the course as up-to-date as possible!

Honestly I can't think of any negatives of living and studying at Cardiff university, but I hope this was helpful for you.
Is there a specific course within Dentistry you are interested in?
