Starting uni is a huge step; it's exciting, but also a little daunting! :u:

From moving away from home (or commuting), meeting new people, adjusting to lectures and seminars, and getting your head around things like budgeting and cooking… there’s a lot to take in before your first term even begins. :burnout:

So we’re asking freshers: do you feel prepared for your first term at university?

Vote in the poll above, and share your thoughts in the thread. What’s making you feel ready, and what are you still nervous about?

Of course, thanks for the tag

I have started uni and I still feel quite unprepared regarding how to study at uni, since it's very different to GCSEs and A-Levels. However there is support to understand more, so I plan to reach out for that  Regarding social life, I've made new friends which I'm happy about since I don't need to walk around alone most of the time  It's a good idea to just talk to as any people as possible!
My immune system was unprepared because I think I have fresher's flu

Mostly, but still a bit unsure about room locations in university and public transport because of train delays.

Hi everyone,

The start of University can be a nerve-racking period for lots of people as new modules are starting and there is lots of information to get to grips with.

Here are my top 3 tips for dealing with the start of term...

1) Remember how far you have come and the work you have put in to get where you are. Imposter syndrome can be quite common at the start of the year as people lack confidence in their surroundings.
2) Ask for help if you are unsure. The start of university is all about helping one another to form good habits that will help you along the way with university life.
3) Try to put yourself out there; there really is a lot to get involved with at Uni, and attending some of these events you might not think are for you sometimes work out to be a really good experience where you meet new friends and people.

I hope this helps,

Matt
