Can I apply for multiple work experience places?

Hi everyone
I'm looking forward to doing work experience at a school in 2-3 months time at a school however I have sent an email asking them if I can do it there. The problem is that schools usually don't respond within the same day and you have to wait 1-2 days to get a response from them so I wanted to apply for multiple schools and then accept the one who responds first since there is no guarantee that the school I have already applied to will say yes.

Does anyone know how I can go about doing this? Do I just mention in my email to the schools that I am also applying to do work experience at other schools at the same time?

This is quite early in the year for work experience so you'll probably be fine, but generally people get quite a few rejections before they get a placement, so if you want to just get the job out the way I'd recommend sending your email to a handful of schools and then sit on it for 1-2 weeks for a response. I wouldn't mention applying to multiple places (you're recommended to apply to lots) but if you don't get a response after this time you can just send polite follow-up emails

Also, if i apply to multiple places and get offered a place somewhere, should I just follow up with the other schools and tell them that I have been accepted elsewhere?

Q1) I was pretty lucky in that applied to 6 places and I got an offer within a working week (two sent rejection emails within two weeks) although I did leave it a little later than I should have due to mocks. So I'd say probably between 3 and 7 if you're really worried, but if you don't hear anything after a while definitely follow up these emails/try more places.

Q2) I think you should yeah, as otherwise they may be expecting you/a form to come through which doesn't happen. They may be able to host someone else instead
