UCL is literally my dream uni because it has the exact courses I want to do. The only problem is, I’m stuck between two of them, which is why I haven’t even started my personal statement yet. Option one is Human Sciences at the main UCL campus. The entry requirements are AAA but my predicted grades are ABB so there’s no way I can realistically get AAA in time (retakes are next week and I’m nowhere near ready). The thing is, the main UCL campus would be perfect for me because it’s so close — I could actually walk there, which would make life so much easier.
Option two is Business and Health at UCL East. The requirements are ABB, which matches my grades, and it actually links more to the A-levels I’m doing (Bio, Psych, and Business). I feel like I could also write a much stronger personal statement for this course because I’ve got extracurriculars and work experience that fit. But the big problem is the commute. It would be two trains or three buses every day, and travelling in London is 1) expensive and 2) super unreliable, with all the strikes going on.
Now I don’t really know what to do, Human sciences is at the campus I’d love to be at, but I don’t think I’ll get the grades. Business and Health is more realistic and probably a better fit but the commuting side is putting me off. plz help
