what to do if there arent many other degrees related to the one i want to firm??

i really want to study human sciences at ucl, but idk what else i can apply for if my personal statement is completely tailored for that? im seeing online that its bad to have a vague personal statement AND i cant go to universities outside of london so i believe i have very few options now

Of the following:

One specific degree type

One specific location

Multiple decent options

You can only pick two. Either broaden your horizons (degree or location-wise) or roll the dice on applying to UCL (it is after all perfectly acceptable to apply for just one, albeit a little risky)
Hey, I actually don’t think your situation is as bad as it feels. Having a personal statement that’s clearly passionate about Human Sciences is a good thing, what admissions usually like to see is the genuine enthusiasm about the subject rather than a super generic statement.

You also don’t need to rewrite your statement completely for every course, just keep focusing on your interest in understanding humans from different perspectives and any relevant skills/experiences you’ve got. When I was applying for my course in forensic science, I incuded my want to explore the subject but I mainly focused on soft and transferable skills that I have obtained in my life as those can be applied towards a lot of subjects. Which allowed for me, to apply for forensics whilst also keeping my doors open for subject like biomed and pharmaceutical as my backups.

Honestly, don’t stress too much about having loads of choices applying to a few courses that genuinely interest you is way better than trying to make your statement fit everything.
