AQA A Level Psychology in One Year

I have missed my offer to study medicine as I got BBC due to extenuating circumstances and i want to resit my exams. I am looking to resit biology and chemistry, but instead of my third subject I am wondering if I should take Psychology instead as my exam centre doesn't offer my third.

Is achieving an A in psychology doable considering I am resitting two other A Levels as well??

Hi @Gracie212, what is the other subject you studied? If it is possible, I would resit that third subject at another exam centre as it would be a lot of extra added work to teach yourself a new level when it may be possible to move exam centres. BBC are still really good a-levels however I know how competitive medicine is and understand you need to resit for a degree like that. If you are planning to do your resit soon, I do not think it would be doable to teach yourself a new a-level in the timeframe.

Best of luck!

hello,

i did film studies and the thing is my chem teacher wont predict me an A, so i wont be able to apply, so in an external exam centre I would be able to, howebver they dont offer Film Studies resits, so I'm thinking of doing biology chemistry resits in that exam centre and doing psychology too and sitting them in may/june.

Hi @Gracie212, If you have a year to learn a new a-level it is possible but it will still be quite difficult. I recommend reaching out to your sixth form for advice on learning it in a year. Maybe they have some useful resources for you, friends that have done the subject might have some revision guides or old notes you can have / any advice on the subject.

Hope this helps : )

Hey, I remember being in your position a few years ago when I was in sixth form and reading through thread's like this. I'm past that stage now 🙂 and I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm offering affordable A-level tuition as someone who scored top grades and is now studying at university. I tutor AQA A-level Psychology and Chemistry and OCR A Biology. I wanted to make it affordable for everyone so I have a limited time offer now of tuition from £5 an hour, which is much cheaper than what I've seen around for £30 an hour. Let me know if you guys are interested and I'll send a google form around. 🙂. It's definitely possible to do psychology in a year, for me it was my easiest subject.

Will it stay at 5 pound forever?
