SLC account?

I applied for funding via SAAS back in early summer and I've been awarded a Bursary and a Student loan, great.

I've had letters come through via the SLC however I don't think I quite understand if I need an account or not or even how to get one, I have a customer reference number which is listed on every letter from SLC I've received, I've completed my registration with my university (Edinburgh Napier), which is done online, but I've not heard anything from SAAS or SLC about an account opening so I'm just wondering if there's anything that I will need to do myself for it because it's getting quite close to the term start date and I've still heard nothing and it's making me quite nervous that I might not be able to make the first rent payment on-time, I'm sure there's a grace period or something but I want to be prepared for whatever gets thrown at me.
