Are these GCSEs high enough for top russell group unis

Hi guys,

I'm not sure how much emphasis top unis like Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL have on GCSEs, so I came here for some help.
My grades are 998888887776.
I'm looking to study engineering doing a levels in further maths, maths, physics, economics.
I got 9 in physics, and 8 in maths and further maths GCSEs.
Also going into sixth form, I would like some advice from students who applied or been accepted to top russell group unis and what I should do at the start of yr12 to get those A*s.

Thank you.

Hiya (:

well done with your gcses!! - sounds like you done fab🤗

If you have a look on the unis websites for the course that your considering and go to the entry requirements section it should mention any requirements relating to gcse's (: - so long as your meeting those requirements you'll have what you need gcse wise!😊

generally with uni applications, its your a-levels & personal statement that are the main deiciding factors, for year 12 i would focus on making a study planner & staying as consistent as possible throughout the year, just generally keeping track of how your getting on and asking your teachers with anything your unsure of - they are there to help and will be more than happy to explain anything! (:

Also if you've got the time, might be good to have a look at attending some uni open days, just gives you that oppourtunity to explore the campus & get a feel for the place + research the course a bit more and see how it differs between unis! 😊

hope this helps, goodluck!

I got into Oxford with 9888887776, I wouldn’t worry! You’ve done really well and Oxbridge considers 8s and 9s to be the same

I got into ICL with 99999877666 . Alevels prediction is much more important - I got 4 A* (predicted and achieved) for engineering.
