Cambridge foundation year help

This August I received my a level results, A * BB , and got into my firm choice uni after being rejected by Cambridge in the winter pool. I was predicted A * AA, which was honestly quite inflated by my teachers. I’ve only just become aware about the foundation year for humanities and I’m considering withdrawing my current application and applying to the FY for 2026. I meet all the criteria- However since I’m not at school how would I get references for UCAS? I know my sociology teacher is willing to help but other than that I’m unsure. Also I’d have to rewrite my personal statement to match the new format so I’d need some help with that. If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it  I’m thinking about taking a gap year anyway, but I know I’d have to completely withdraw to make a FY application but im not sure if it’s the right move.

IMHO Birmingham is a very good uni. It doesn't worth giving up Birmingham for a gap year.

Think carefully about rejecting a Russell Group university place for this since the gap year followed by FY would put you two years behind the UoB path. You should also take into account the very stiff competition for FY places, with seven applicants chasing every place.
If you do decide to go for it then I’m sure your school will help with the details around the reference and ps, there’s ps help available on tsr also. Also make absolutely certain that you definitely meet the FY criteria, they are detailed, specific and not flexible.
