Universities with bad GCSEs

In my GCSEs I got Maths-7 (3 marks off 8) Further maths-5 Business-5 History-5 English literature-6 English language-5 Pe-6 Biology-6 Chemistry-5 Physics-5 Computer science-5 My dream is to work in high finance or banking and ik to get a good job in that it’s better to go to certain target and semi target universities. However my GCSEs wasn’t good despite the hard work I put in and I’ve learnt a lot from it and I’ve started y12 flying with more hunger and desire as I’ve done a fair bit of work in summer . I’m studying maths further maths and economics with an epq .i was speaking to a teacher that knows me well and with the right guidance and path he reckons I can get an A* in maths economics and epq and an A in further maths maybe an A* but highly unlikely . I am good at maths and I love studying it with economics at a deeper level beyond the classroom . If I get my good mock grades and do good extra and super curriculars along with a good personal statement, I was wondering what 5 universities I should apply for. I’d want the recommendations and feedback to be completely honest and realistic. Please give me honest and realistic feedback. I’d want to study a course based on economics, maths and statistics
Please check out this thread which should have more information on GCSE grades and universities

You would be very surprised how insignificant GCSEs are to universities. In fact, with your GCSE grades, I think you are still open to all universities - or, at most, the exception of 1 or 2.

A-Levels are much more significant, they are tougher and a more "up to date" version of your academic ability. If you do well in your A-Levels, which your teacher reckons, then I'm sure it'll open a lot of doors for you to the top universities.

Also, three or four A-Levels, it doesn't really matter. If you finished off with three solid grades at the end of year thirteen, rather than four, I doubt it would make much of a difference. Don't be afraid to drop one if it becomes too much to handle, as I'm sure no doors will close as a result.
