I got my log in and college yesterday finally! The log in is so annoying though and I’m on my second live chat with IT to get me logged into Banner Self Service.

Same, I got my username about half an hour ago. I remember a Durham email saying that you had to get your college first before getting your IT details, so hopefully that means that our allocations are sorted and will be sent out shortly…

Hey guys just wanted to give an update this morning. I called admissions today - they are super helpful. They are saying it should be today or tomorrow, but the accom office has said there is a delay (they haven't said why). Basically, when you call admissions you need to ask to make a formal complaint. The admissions office are then taking details of everyone and their experience to bring this up to management and make the accom office accountable.

These are the accom numbers, but I expect you will find if you call them they will just ring out and you won't be placed on hold.

It is also important try this and email them and then explain in your complaint that you have not received a response.

To make a complaint you need to email this address: [email protected]
Apparently it is staffed by senior managers so your complaint should get heard. Basically we need to make the accom office understand that what they are doing is absolutely unacceptable.

Durham already has a poor reputation for accommodation with some students last year not getting accommodation which obviously makes this so stressful and completely makes you lose your trust in them as an institution.

Hope it works out for all of you x

Will everyone need to ring up? Or are they still sending them out to everyone who hasn't got them without needing a complaint

Reply 36

Ringing up doesn’t get you prioritised it just means you can add evidence to the case that admissions will be presenting - personally I haven’t got my college yet, only my username with no password

I would recommend still ringing up so it is logged, but I don’t think it’ll make any difference in how long it takes

South College!!!

The University has been made aware of a post on The Student Room advising incoming students to Durham University who have not yet been allocated a college to make a complaint through the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office is unable to respond to these complaints, as the college allocation process sits outside of the admissions process.

Any messages received to that account will be passed on to the College Allocation and Accommodation Office, but will not receive a response from Admissions.

If you would like to make an enquiry about College allocations. the best way to do this is via our Live Chat function on our website.

Staff are working extremely hard to allocate rooms to those students who are still waiting. While we appreciate this is frustrating, we would ask you to please be patient while we complete this work.
