I need advice on getting fit

I'm what one could call extremely overweight and my health is affected but I'm terrified of exercising.

Since my school days I went through so much bullying that stained me in a way that adds to my fear. Additionally I have experienced so much pain, and other physical bone and joint conditions that really hinder my ability to work out.

After not exercising for three years at least, I'm terrified because of the pain it will cause me.

Is there any way of something that I could try to help me?

Honestly, reach out to gyms in your area, even if just by email at first - there are AMAZING exercise professionals out there who not only love helping people get fitter, but feel a genuine sense of pride and accomplishment seeing people improve their health under their guidance. They can help you get fit slowly and steadily, minimising pain and possible injury, and will help you get where you want to go. Gyms have moved on a lot, and they're not like school PE, they are often vibrant, social, and supportive communities who will help you - you do get the odd 'macho' types, but they are in the minority these days, you're more likely to get advice on form, or a random ''well done mate'' than anything else. Seriously, give it a try, it might surprise you. . Purely on the health side, pop into your doctor's before you start, just to make sure there's no underlying health issues there. Good luck on your fitness journey
