i would like to apply to a joint honours course. whilst putting down a course on UCAS, my option is joint honours
how do i then put which two subjects i’m combining as the only option i have is to put down joint honours not the two subjects im going to combine if that makes sense?

Which uni are you applying to and for what specific combination of subjects?

At most unis joint honours courses are listed in UCAS "as is" i.e. French and German, Physics and Mathematics, History and Politics, Philosophy and History of Art etc.

There are a few with specific combined honours schemes like Exeter's FCH, Durham combined social sciences, UCL arts and sciences, and various "liberal arts" and "natural sciences" courses elsewhere. These usually have specific mechanisms for you to indicate your subject choices which are unique to each uni and will be specified on the admissions pages - there may be an additional part of the application to complete through one of their application portals, or it may simply be a (digital) form to fill in.

So it's necessary to know where you are applying and for what to understand what the situation would be. I would also recommend checking the uni's webpages in any event to see if there's more information on those as well

An update about the provision of Flexible Combined Honours at University of Exeter.

I'm sorry to inform you that following a careful review of our programme portfolio and owing to various external factors we have taken the difficult decision to close our Flexible Combined Honours programme at the University of Exeter. We still have a variety of combined honours programmes and an exciting Liberal Arts programme. All of which include the opportunity to experience studying more than one subject with us.
