Hi eviemaher7,

Congratulations on your place at Exeter and please don’t panic at all if you’re seeing that fixr has sold out tickets for Exeter events. Fixr often sell bundle tickets for freshers week but they really are not essential to have. In my first year I bought similar tickets off fixr and actually ended up not using them. There are clubs in Exeter such as Timepiece that only sell tickets from their official website so worth checking a venues actual website for tickets too. There are also clubs such as cavern and fever that do pay on the door after certain times in the evening so lots of ways to get stuck into the Exeter night life.

It’s also worth seeing what societies or sports clubs you might be interested In going. You can find a list of everything the uni has to offer at

https://www.exeterguild.com/societies

Check out the social media of any societies or sports clubs your interested in as during welcome week all of them will have social events some of which will take place in pubs or clubs across Exeter. This is a great way to get involved during freshers week and was one of the things that made me feel more comfortable going out clubbing as a fresher because I’d met a few people at the welcome week fair or society events and there was older students who knew the lay of the land a bit more.

One of my best memories from freshers was just going round lots of different pubs once everyone on my flat had moved in, we got to explore the city and didn’t need any plans. There are loads of ways to get out and have a good time during freshers so don’t panic about the tickets and enjoy getting involved once you arrive.
