GCSE's for medicine

I got 7666665544 in my GCSE's with a 65 in combined science and 6's in english and maths. Although, Im predicted A*A*AA A*'s in chem and psych. If I were to achieve a good UCAT score, should I apply to Imperial? Will I also be able to update my GCSE grades after i submit my application, as if I were to retake English, I'd only get my results in January. Also, if anyone else is going through a similar situation as me, please comment and let me know about your experiences. Thank you.

If the university is asking for 6's in maths and English, which is the minimum they look for and you achieve your A-Levels as predicted/they have offered you, you should focus on just achieving well on your A-Levels.

The best advice I can give you is that if your predicted grades fit what the course from Imperial is asking for, you should apply as one of your choices on UCAS, because as long as you have those grades and have a good personal statement (which you should be done writing), they will give you the offer.

Take the UCAT if needed and apply !!! Never miss an opportunity. There's no reason to retake GCSE's if you really do not need to (Since you have achieved the minimum they ask for).

If you don't mind me asking, what course are you applying for?

If you are resitting any GCSEs you must include the original grade, and also list the resit alongside your A levels in 'pending qualifications'. You cannot add this later because a Uni will assess your qualifications on what is there, not what 'might be there later'. You school will add a prediction for any resits as they will for your A levels, and any Uni offer will include this GCSE grade as an additional condition. If you achieve the required grade in January, you would then inform all your Unis about that result.

If you want to check if Imperial or any other Uni will accept GCSE resits, or if this puts you at any disadvantage, you will need to contact that Uni directly.
