Dropping lowest module grade

Hi,

My university drop my lowest grade before calculating my final grade. But will that be the lowest grade from year 2 or year 3? It will make a huge difference to my grade overall depending which one it is.

Thanks

How can anyone possibly give an opinion without knowing which university you attend?

Hi there @Amber.spiers ,

I believe that dropping the lowest performing module is a common policy to help students achieve the best possible outcome, and some universities remove a low mark from the highest-weighted year, whereas some remove it from the final year of your course. So, i think your best bet would be to consult your university's student handbook/your tutor/your university's student hub, to confirm the specific rules that apply to your course.

I hope this helps and that you are very pleased with your final grade. Good luck! 🤞

Hi there,

It's hard to know as every university will have different policies and will do this differently. I would agree that usually this is done as a way to help you get the best grade you can and will likely be based on your best year.

I would suggest talking to your university about this and seeing what their policy is as they will have the best answer for you. If you talk to the help team at your uni they should know, or ask one of your tutors as they will likely know too. There is usually some guidance about this online too which might help you in a bit more detail.

I hope this helps,
