How does this work for Clearing? Late.

If Clearing 2025 will end in Late-October, yet most courses begin in September, how does this work?

Could I ask for a place through clearing for a course that’s already begun if it’s still advertised? If so, when I enrol, what happens? No Fresher’s week; no course induction - just straight teaching?

If the uni is happy for you to enrol late, than basically yes, to all of this.

Hi. I responded to you in detail about my university coursework/remark situation yesterday on a different thread. I did this because you said you’d be better able to help me if the situation was clarified. I would really appreciate your help as you seem very knowledgable. But I haven’t heard from you. Did you get the notification of my reply?

yup, you'll likely have to catch up with whatever work you've missed as well.

I did, but it’s been a very busy day at work. Feel free to tag me in that thread again tomorrow.

So have you decided not to take up your foundation place at Cambridge? Are you still planning to apply Oxford for 2026? How will you manage without student finance immediately, especially as there is likely to be very little choice of halls left?

Hi Janeerie244,

You can apply through clearing right up until the deadline. While you might miss out on freshers week there will be lots of opportunities to meet new people and settle in after freshers week. At LJMU out clearing is still open and freshers ends next week.

Joining university after Freshers’ Week can feel daunting, but it’s absolutely possible to make friends and settle in quickly. Many students feel the same way, some miss Freshers due to illness, travel, or late offers, so you're not alone.

Start by getting involved. Look for societies or clubs that match your interests; most accept new members all year round. Attending a few meetings or events is a great way to meet people in a relaxed setting. Don’t be afraid to go alone, many others will be doing the same.
In your course, try to start conversations before or after lectures. A simple “Hi, mind if I sit here?” or asking a question about the class can spark a connection. Study groups are also a great way to bond and share ideas.

All the best with your applicants
