How to choose a disseration topic in social work as a student?

I am a third-year Social Work student seeking guidance, support, and resources to help me identify a suitable dissertation topic. I would greatly value the knowledge and expertise of others in sharing advice on how to begin generating and refining potential ideas.

Is your dissertation a literature review or research project? I would think about the key areas of social work education/practise that interest you, and go from there.

You should think about the following.

What aspect of social work interests you as an individual?

What are the current challenges faced at the moment? - here you will need to do a lot of literature search.

How best can you improve on the challenge? Is there a specific approach you think I can improve it?

Make sure whatever you conclude on is something you can implement.

By the time you compile these bits together, you should have a researchable topic to work on.

Good luck.
