Planned absence

Hi,
I have booked a two week holiday for beginning October and can not cancel, I have just started my Occuptional therapy masters program and they seem to have strict attendance.
Should I inform the tutors in advance or just go and hope for the best?
Thanks

Have you could check with your tutor/student services? Or there maybe some guidance on your student portal.

Thanks I can't see much guidance. Do you think I should discuss with tutor?

You need to notify your course leaders in writing about your planned holiday and they might ask for proof of that. You are not allowed any term time holidays usually with any health related courses. Only time you are allowed are the allocated ones at Xmas and new year, Easter, end of term and any other that the university has scheduled in.

You should have notified them asap, and they will either allow you time off or they will say NO. .....

Don't just take it of as you'll be in trouble with them, rather discuss it with them and get there feedback on it, you'll have to get there permission in writing to say that you have been granted it, don't take it as granted okay.......

I'm a mentor/ supervisor to student midwives and they are not allowed any term time off unless it is a immediate family funeral.

Definitely! Especially as your holiday will result in missing lectures. The tutor should know how or what to do. Good luck!!
